Sonakshi Sinha's Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi "witnessed a noticeable decline" on Wednesday and Thursday and collected Rs 1.42 crore and Rs 1.15 crore respectively, tweeted Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh. According to Mr Adarsh, the film might not have had a very impressive start at the box office but it witnessed "ample growth over the weekend." In his tweet, Taran Adarsh also mentioned that despite the growth over the weekend, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has managed to collect only Rs 18.11 crore within a week of its release. Taran Adarsh tweeted: Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi showed ample growth over the weekend [a norm these days], but witnessed noticeable decline on Wed and Thu... Weekend 2 is crucial... Fri 2.70 cr, Sat 4.03 cr, Sun 5.05 cr, Mon 2.05 cr, Tue 1.71 cr, Wed 1.42 cr, Thu 1.15 cr. Total:18.11 cr. India biz."

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi opened to poor reviews. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV gave Sonakshi's film one-and-a-half stars out of five and described the film as "pure drivel." He wrote: "The primary problem with Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi isn't that it is pure drivel. That is something that could be pardoned in Bollywood laugh riot. But here, the hilarity quotient is low. The precursor had delivered on at least a part of the promise inherent in the quirky premise. This one goes through the motions without ever coming close to finding a genuine rhythm."
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a sequel to the 2017 film Happy Bhag Jayegi. Except Sonakshi Sinha (who plays the titular role), the film also features Jassi Gill, Piyush Mishra, Diana Penty, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Sheirgill.
