Popular singers Shankar Mahadevan,Hariharan and Suresh Wadkar have lent their voice to poemspenned by late Ramesh Tendulkar, father of cricket icon SachinTendulkar.
"We are coming out with an album of Ramesh Tendulkar'spoems and these singers are among those who have sung nineselected poems," Ashok Patki, well known musicdirector-composer, told PTI.
The other singers include Swapnil Bnandodkar, MandarApte and Ajit Deval, Patki said.
The idea of bringing an album of Ramesh Tendulkar's poemswas suggested by noted sports writer-commentator DwarkanathSanzgiri, he said.
The album would be released this month-end by Tendulkar,Patki said. He recalled listening to child Sachin sing a poemof his father.
The poems are about various moods - happy, sad andalso about nature. A book containing 29 such poems would alsobe released along with the music CD, he said.
