New Delhi:
Harshvardhan Kapoor finally revealed the big news. The 26-year-old actor will feature in a biopic based on Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra. Early this morning, Harshvardhan Instagrammed a picture of himself with Abhinav , where the two can be seen chilling over a meal and revealed that he is stoked to have been chosen to play Abhinav Bindra, 34, who won the gold medal in rifle shooting at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Harshvardhan is aware of the fact that recreating the shooter's journey isn't easy but hopes to do justice to the 'legendary man.' "Hard Work is a talent," Harshvardhan quoted Abhinav as saying. He captioned the picture: "Beginnings are very special. Especially when you get to play a character that has made the nation proud on world stage. I am stoked to have been chosen to play Abhinav Bindra and hopefully will do justice to the man, the legend!"
Of the film, Harshvardhan earlier told mid-day, "The biopic is a big responsibility because of the subject matter. It is the most mammoth responsibility I've ever shouldered." "Harsh also visited the Navi Mumbai shooting range to meet Abhinav's coach. He even checked out the rifles in an attempt to get a feel of the whole thing," a source told mid-day.
Harshvardhan, who made his debut in Bollywood with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya, is actor Anil Kapoor's son. He is currently shooting for Vikramaditya Motwane's Bhavesh Joshi.
Harshvardhan's sister actress Sonam Kapoor also featured in the biopic Neerja in 2016. She even won a National Film Award for her role in the film while Anil Kapoor, who was last seen in Mubarakan with nephew actor Arjun Kapoor, is prepping for his upcoming Fanney Khan, co-starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
