New Delhi: Shraddha Kapoor's latest film Haseena Parkar, which released this Friday has not managed to score a decent number at the box office and was able to make Rs. 1.4 crore on the opening day of the weekend, reports boxofficeindia.com. The film opened to poor reviews on Friday and managed to achieve Rs. 1.37 crore on the first day. Haseena Parkar was flat on Saturday and has managed to score Rs. 2.77 crore till date, reports boxofficeindia.com. The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, tracks the journey of gangster Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar's life. Shraddha Kapoor features in titular role while her brother Siddhanth portrays the role of gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Shraddha Kapoor's Haseena Parkar released with Sanjay Dutt's Bhoomi and Rajkummar Rao's Newton, which are doing really well at the box office.

In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee wrote, "Haseena Parkar is bereft of frisson and focus. It crafts a morally dodgy portrait of the 'godmother' of Nagpada, Dawood Ibrahim's tough-minded sibling who ran the dreaded mafia don's crime syndicate by proxy in the 1990s and the noughties without ever being brought to book. The film falls off the deep end in the process." He gave the film 1.5 stars out of 5.

Shraddha had visibly gained weight to play the older version of Haseena and said she needed prosthetics even after the extra kilos she put on. "I tried my best to gain weight and I managed to gain seven-eight kilos. We took help of prosthetics to make me look like Haseena Parkar. I have tried to imbibe her mannerisms and the way she speaks, walks etc. It is entirely my voice, we have not doctored it," PTI quoted Shraddha as saying.
