Several Bollywood celebrities have got themselves vaccinated in the last few weeks. Many have also used their social media reach to amplify the importance of getting the COVID-19 jab. Recently, actress Dia Mirza too spoke about the vaccine, but her message was a little different from that of her colleagues. In a Twitter post, she wrote about the effect of the vaccine on pregnant women and shared an insight that a doctor gave her. Retweeting a message that discussed the impact of coronavirus and its vaccines on pregnant women, the mom-to-be wrote, “This is really important. Must read and also note that none of the vaccinations currently being used in India have been tested on pregnant and lactating mothers. My doctor says we cannot take these vaccines until required clinical trials have been done.”
The 39-year-old has been actively using social media platforms to spread awareness about the pandemic. "Our children are deeply affected by the ongoing crises. Many are losing parents to COVID-19. These organisations can help us help our children," she wrote.
She has also reiterated the importance of getting vaccinated, wearing a double mask and staying home.
Dia is expecting her first child with husband Vaibhav Rekhi. The actress announced the pregnancy last month on Instagram with a photo of herself cradling the baby bump with a beach in the background. The picture that she shared was taken during the couple's trip to the Maldives. Dia was previously married to Sahil Sangha for 11 years.
Dia, who is best known for her work in films such as Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein, Sanju, and Dum, was last seen in Thappad.
