As Bombay Velvet went out like the briefest of candles at the box office, director Anurag Kashyap wrote his cast and crew a lengthy Facebook note defending his film and assuring them that he was neither 'depressed' nor 'hiding' after the film was mauled to bits by critics.
Here is photo evidence that he is neither of these things. The 42-year-old filmmaker was in the highest of spirits at a party to celebrate the success of Piku, directed by Shoojit Sircar, on Monday evening.
Just a day after his emotional Facebook post, Mr Kashyap was partying with Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh and producing partner Vikas Bahl at the festivities hosted by Piku star Deepika Padukone.
Mr Kashyap had clearly gotten out of the right side of the bed on Monday morning, responding to a Twitter dig made by former colleague Ram Gopal Varma with this perfect comeback:
The Dev D director is also reportedly moving to Paris, although his Facebook post assured everyone that he was 'not done' making films in and about India.
