New Delhi:
After a brilliant box office performance on Dussehra, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Shaandaar witnessed a sharp dip in collection figures on October 23, still raking in a total of Rs 20.65 crores. Much unlike Taran Adarsh, whose tweets usually include a comment or a forecast, the trade analyst simply shared the figures on Saturday.
With day two collections amounting to a mere Rs 7.55 crores, it looks like Vikas Bahl, who directed the hugely successful Queen in 2014, has lost his Midas touch. Queen starring Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon, opened to excellent reviews and continued to rule the theatres three weeks in a row. However, with the destination wedding drama, the 34-year-old actor has achieved his highest opening day collections with a score of Rs 13 crores on Thursday, October 22. This was Shahid's first 2015 movie and also his first after he married Mira Rajput in July 2015. (Also Read: Shahid Kapoor on Mira Rajput: I'm Totally Controlled by My Wife)
Alia too, who features in Shaandaar as a sprightly girl, marks her first and last 2015 project with the film.
Shaalia, as Shahid and Alia are popularly known, will feature again in Vishal Bhardwaj's Udta Punjab in 2016. The thriller drama will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan.
