Mumbai : Makkhi, Hindi version of director S.S. Rajamouli's Telugu blockbuster Eega, will have a nationwide release October 12.
Reliance Entertainment is releasing the film, which was produced by Sai Korrapati and D. Suresh Babu, said a statement. Several technicians from Hollywood, Bollywood and Southern film industry worked togethr to create "the fly" in the high budget Eega.
Starring Sudeep (Sudeep), Samantha Prabhu (Bindu) and Nani (Jani) in lead roles, Makkhi is a live action animation film about the revenge of a super fly.
Eega was released in Telugu on July 6 this year, then in Tamil as Naane and as Eecha in Malayalam.
Having reached to audience in 1103 screens in India with its Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions, the film's Hindi release will further augment its reach.
Its three versions have already done a gross business of over Rs.130 crore worldwide.
The Hindi audience is already familiar with Rajamouli's body of work that includes blockbuster Telugu film Vikramarkudu (2006) , remade in Hindi as Rowdy Rathore and his 2010 release Maryada Ramanna (2010) is being made as Son Of Sardar in Hindi.
His 2009 movie Magadheera is also slated to be remade in Hindi.
