Honoured to Present A R Rahman With Award, Says Subhash Ghai

Mumbai: Filmmaker Subhash Ghai says 'it was an honour' to present Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman with the Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award. (Also Read: AR Rahman Receives Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award)

Mr Rahman was presented with the award on Monday by the filmmaker on the birthday of Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, the younger brother of legendary playback singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

Mr Ghai, who worked with the composer on films like Taal, Yuvvraaj and Kisna, said A R Rahman knew 'how to win hearts'. He praised the music maestro in a series of tweets on Tuesday:

He thanked the composer for 'your generous words at the award function for me'.

The filmmaker also shared a 12-second video online of Mr Rahman in which he is seen saying how people quickly associate him with the 1999 hit film Taal.
