Actor Shahid Kapoor knows how to strike a balance between his personal life and professional commitments and it reflects in the way he has designed his work calendar during his wife Mira Rajput's final trimester. Shahid and Mira are expecting their second child after Misha, who was born in August 2016. Shahid Kapoor has two impressive projects (Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Arjun Reddy remake) up his sleeve and he has delegated time to both projects in a way that also gives him ample time with his family. Shahid completed the outdoor schedule for Batti Gul Meter Chalu in June and he has reportedly decided to stick to the film's promotion only in Mumbai in August.
"The makers have decided against having city tours as part of the promotional plan," a source close to the project told mid-day. Batti Gul Meter Chalu producer Bhushan Kumar (of T-Seires) told mid-day: "Shahid is a committed actor... I understand Shahid's need to be by his wife's side at such a time."
As for Arjun Reddy, Shahid will complete one schedule of the film, which goes on floors this month. He will complete the first schedule of the film before the arrival of his second baby (in September). Co-producer Murad Khetani told mid-day: "I understand Shahid's need to be with his family. He has been accommodating in terms of dates. He will film a schedule of Arjun Reddy before he takes time out."
A source told mid-day that Shahid Kapoor will take a few weeks off after wrapping the first schedule of Arjun Reddy remake to spend time with Mira, Misha and his newborn child.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu also stars Yami Gautam and Shraddha Kapoor and it releases in September while Arjun Reddy remake is slated for June 21 release.
