London:
'High School Musical' star Vanessa Hudgens has replaced pop princess Britney Spears as the new face of clothing brand Candie.
The 22-year-old actress, who is fronting the new campaign for the juniors clothing range, was personally congratulated by the 'Womaniser' hitmaker, reported Contactmusic.
"So fun being a Candie's Girl! Look out for the @Candiesbrand pics of their new girl, Vanessa Hudgens! - Brit (sic)," tweeted Spears.
Hudgens, as a thank you gesture, tweeted back to express her excitement at the appointment.
"Thnx, @BritneySpears, you're a tough act to follow... but, I'm so excited to be the new Candie's girl for 2011!! (sic)," she wrote.
Hudgens has been a fan of the brand ever since 'Black Eyed Peas' singer Fergie appeared in its advertising campaign and was overwhelmed to follow in her idol's footsteps.
"Ever since I saw Fergie do the ads for Candie's I fell in love. It's such an honour to be able to be a Candie's girl now!" she said.
Hudgens, whose campaign was shot by photographer Tony Duran in Sun Valley, California will make her debut in March.
