I Am Kalam is an extraordinary film, says GulshanActor Gulshan Grover, who will be attending the screening of award winning film I Am Kalam in Los Angeles, feels the movie is an extraordinary one and has generated a lot of interest among the audience.
Directed by debutante director Nila Madhab I Am Kalam is a story of a poor boy, who is inspired by former President A P J Abdul Kalam so much that he starts referring to himself by the name of the former President.
Gulshan, one of the lead actors of the film, has travelled to Los Angeles for screening of the movie. The film features Delhi slum boy Harsh Mayar, Hussan Saad, Gulshan and Beatrice Ordeix.
"I have been exposed to the highest form of artistic and entertaining world cinema. But I have never witnessed this kind of response that I Am Kalam has generated. I strongly believe that it is an extraordinary film," Grover said.
"After we got a heartening response at several international film festivals, I started emailing the stills, trailers and synopsis to my friends and colleagues in Hollywood seeking support for this cause oriented film," he said.
Grover leaves the premiere of his movie Bin Bulaye Baraati that released today for the screening of his other film I Am Kalam.
The one-and-a-half-hour film, produced by Smile Foundation, an NGO, aims at motivating the poor to educate their children. It is the first feature film ever, in the world, to be produced by an NGO.
I Am Kalam has so won 12 national and international awards including the 58th National Award for the hero of the film, twelve-year-old Harsh Mayar. The worldwide theatrical release of the film is scheduled in June-end.
