Shirish Kunder, the co-producer ofAkshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer Tees Maar Khan, isplanning to team up with the superstar again for the sequel,expected to go on floors in 2012.
Kunder and wife Farah Khan, the director of the movie,are busy with post-production work of the movie, which iseyeing a Christmas release this year but the producer says hehas already started work on the sequel.
"We are going ahead with the next installment of Tees Maar Khan. This was always planned right from the time Istarted writing the film. We didn't want to wait till therelease of Tees Maar Khan and then make an announcement. Ihave already begun writing for 'Tees Maar Khan 2'," Kundertold PTI.
Akshay Kumar, who is the central protagonist, plays thecharacter of crook while Katrina is a wannabe item girl in themovie. Akshay is co-producing the film with Kunder.
It is not clear whether Katrina and Akshaye Khanna wouldbe seen in the second installment or not. Also, the film couldbe directed by Farah Khan again or Shirish himself.
"All of that that would be decided once the script is inplace. I am just getting into the first draft now. It wouldtake some time before I have the bound script ready. I amtargeting to kick start the shooting in 2012 though once I amthrough with directing Joker followed by Kick in 2011,"Kunder said.
Kunder will be busy shooting for his back to backdirectorial ventures next year, which will leave him littletime to work on the sequel but the producer is confident thathe will manage time for the second installment.
"I have actually planned it all. I generally have lots oftime in hands because I don't go to parties. Also, I work onfilms and also films; I don't even do any TV shows. All I needis to be left alone to write and I am sure I would be able tomanage it all despite Tees Maar Khan, Joker and Kick,"he says..
Farah is sure though that it would take some time for herpost the release of Tees Maar Khan to get back into theworld of films. Last one year may have gone past her in ajiffy due to the shooting schedules of Tees Maar Khan butbefore doing anything new on the second installment, she wantsto take a breather and spend time with her kids.
"I have been mighty busy all this while and I don't seemyself resting till January beginning at the least. I am surethat I would take a break once Tees Maar Khan is released.My kids were with me during the time when I was directingTees Maar Khan. Still, my mind was always occupied withsomething or the other related to the film. Now I want to takeout time with them," the Om Shanti Om director said.
Meanwhile, Kunder, who is independently writing Tees Maar Khan 2, says the scale and setting of the film would bemuch bigger than the first in the series that would releasethis Christmas.
"In the upcoming Tees Maar Khan, our centralprotagonist is conning people only in India. In Tees Maar Khan 2, he would con people internationally. The film has aneven bigger canvas to it and would be shot entirely outsideIndia in various countries across the globe," says Kunder.
Kunder is releasing the film on December 24.
