• And the idea behind Gaga's 2009 hit 'Paparazzi' also stemmed from the death of the Royal.
• "Diana was the most iconic martyr of fame. She died because of it," said Gaga, who played a piano version of her new song to a select few last month. One critic described it as packed with "bitter lyrics" around a "trademark catchy chorus".
