Bollywood film Finding Fanny has found itself in the middle of another storm as groups across Karnataka lodged a writ petition against the movie for a scene which, allegedly, shows the state in a derogatory light. (Also Read: Finding Fanny Ban Plea Dismissed)
In the scene, the cast, including Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia, Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur, cross the border from Goa into Karnataka. Dimple Kapadia asks 'where are we?' to which Arjun Kapoor's character says 'we've crossed into a mental state!" The next shot is a milestone saying Karnataka.
Groups in Karnataka have, reportedly, taken this dialogue to heart, and have lodged a writ petition against the release of the film in the state. The film, which has received clearance from the Censor Board releases worldwide tomorrow.
Yesterday, the Delhi High Court dismissed a PIL seeking a ban on the release of the Homi Adajania-directed film due to the use of the word 'fanny'.
