Mumbai:
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has given a worthy platform to several newcomers through his film, and there is a special reason behind it! He feels the new crop of talent is better than his generation, and feels he has a knack of latching on to good talents.
"The new talent is far more better than us lot, that's what I believe. The new directors are better than us, newer actors, newer people. The newer talent knows exactly what they want to do. They are not the confused lot like we used to be," said Kashyap, who gave chance to Vikramaditya Motwane, Bejoy Nambiar and Raj Kumar Gupta.
"They are some very good filmmakers. When I see a good filmmaker, I respect them. I picked up Vikramaditya, Bejoy and Raj Kumar - they are the filmmakers who know their minds. I don't tell them what to do. But I think I am a good judge of what this person is, so I just pick up people. I find any good talent, I latch on to it," the 39-year-old said here at an event.
Kashyap's production house Phantom, which her runs with directors Vikas Bahl and Motwane, is making a film on the Sunburn usic festival.
While Motwane directed internationally acclaimed Udaan, Bejoy was applauded for Shaitaan and Gupta received acclaim for Rajeev Khandelwal starrer Aamir.
Kashyap is currently busy with Gangs of Wasseypur and his next production Aiyaa.
