On Tuesday, actress Shraddha Kapoor shared an emotional post for late singer Lata Mangeshkar, on her Instagram handle. The post features Shraddha Kapoor from her childhood days along with Lata Mangeshkar. In one of the pics, the actress can be seen smiling along with the late singer for the photograph, followed by pictures of Lata Mangeshkar from her young days. Sharing the post, Shraddha wrote that "she will forever cherish the honour of sharing precious moments" with Lata Mangeshkar. Read Shraddha's caption here: "I will forever cherish the honour of having shared precious moments with you. Your hand on my head, your warm gaze, your loving words of encouragement. Thank you for your simplicity, divinity, excellence and grace. Truly The Greatest of all time! I Love You Lata Aaji.” Shraddha and Lata Mangeshkar are relatives. The actor's maternal grandfather Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure was Lata Mangeshkar's first cousin. Lata Mangeshkar died on Sunday in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital at the age of 92 after she was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Lata Mangeshkar, known as the 'Nightingale of India,' had sung in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and other regional languages. She was honoured with the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award as well as several National and Filmfare Awards.

Lata Mangeshkar began singing to support her family after the death of her father Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar in 1942. He was a classical singer and theatre actor. In Bollywood, Lata Mangeshkar got her first major break with the song Dil Mera Toda from the film Majboor in 1948. However, her song Aayega Aanewaala from the movie 1949 film Mahal became her first major hit.
