Veteran Hollywood star Jane Fondahas confessed she wasn't a good mother to her children whenthey grew up as she was too busy with her work.
The 73-year-old actress-turned-activist now treasuresher close bond with her grandchildren because they've givenher a "second chance" to repair her relationships with herkids.
The star had daughter Vanessa with her first husbandRoger Vadim in 1968, and a son, Troy, with activist Tom Haydenfive years later.
But Fonda admitted she was an absent mum for most oftheir young lives because she was too focused on heranti-Vietnam War efforts, reported Contactmusic.
"I don't think I taught them much. I don't think I wasthat good of a mother. But I did always tell them the truthand I hope they can always learn from my mistakes.
"I was just moving from Barbarella into an anti-waractivist when my daughter was born and I was out there on thebarricades and I should have brought her with me but I didn't.I wasn't around a lot," said Fonda.
And now that her children have kids of their own, sheis making a big effort to be a part of their lives."That's what's so great about being a grandmother - itgives you a second chance."
