Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam director Sherrey ended his fast over the exclusion of his film Aadimadhyantham from the competition section at the 16th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) after being assured this evening that the film would be officially screened tomorrow.
Sherrey, who had begun his fast earlier in the day, accepted a glass of lemon juice from eminent director T V Chandran to mark its end. The debutante filmmaker had earlier refused the Academy's offer to show the film in the Malayalam Cinema Now section.
After the assurance of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the screening of the film is just 'official' as it has not been included in any category in the festival.
Aadimadhyantam had been in controversy after the selection committee's decision to remove the film from the competition section was rejected by the Chalachitra Academy on the ground that the film was submitted in an incomplete format.
