The IIFA Music workshop, showcasing Indian film music to host country Canada, will be the new addition to the IIFA Weekend this year.
The workshop aims to showcase Indian music to students from across Ontario, where professionals and industry stalwarts will participate in a themed-based discussion titled 'Music -- Bringing Cinema Alive'.
The workshop will be held on the last day of the weekend, June 25, the same morning as the IIFA Awards. It will also feature an interactive session led by music directors Vishal Bhardwaj, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim Merchant.
It will open with a brief history of Hindi Film music- its origins, uniqueness and integral role in films.
Vishal Bhardwaj will hold a session on how music is infused into Bollywood films, based on plot and scripts and how the music composer looks into all components background score, lyrics and music.
