According to industry sources, Imran Khan and his fiancee Avantika Malik will tie the knot in Thailand in January next year exactly a year after they got engaged. Says a source, "The wedding details got finalised recently."
There was talk of a wedding a few months ago, but the actor had denied it. He was busy shooting for his films and made it clear that he wanted to get married at a time when he was free from his work commitments, so he could plan and enjoy the most important day in his life. Buzz is, he has now decided on a date and the venue.
Apprently, Imran and Avantika will get married in Thailand at an exclusive palatial resort somewhere near Koh Samui.
The exact date is still under consideration but the wedding will happen in January. Close friends and family will fly out for the shaadi.
The actor has requested producer Karan Johar to adjust his January dates for Short Term Shaadi, a film he stars in with Kareena Kapoor, so that he can get married.
The couple has been dating for almost six years now. They got engagend in January 16 this year at a farmhouse owned by his fiancee's family in Karjat.
It was a quiet family affair attended by the Khan clan including Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao.
