Imtiaz Ali says his movie is also about relationships
Mumbai:
Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali describes his film Highway as a relationship film that would help people discover more about their roots.
"Highway is a relationship film on the roads. It's about when you travel you discover more about the place you come from. Highway is a discovery like that," Imtiaz said here on Wednesday in an interview.
Imtiaz, who teamed up with big names like Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone for Love Aaj Kal and Ranbir Kapoor for Rockstar, has roped in Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt to play the lead roles in Highway.
When asked why he chose them instead of bigger stars, Imtiaz said: "I feel that if I work with honesty, then I need to choose actors according to the characters."
"Choosing an actor does not depend on my ability to sign a big actor. That would be of no use... a suitable actor is required for every role. I felt that these actors suit my roles and that's why I chose them," he added.
Highway hits theatres on February 21 next year.
