"Trouble always comes around," is Nicky Fury's gloomy pronunciation in the second trailer of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and for the motley crew of superhero misfits - that include a man out of time and one with 'spectacular anger issues' - trouble is available in plenty.
The just-released trailer features the voice of Boston Legal's James Spader as the artificial intelligence Ultron, who is created by Tony Stark, the film implies. It also offers the briefest of glimpses of new cast members Elizabth Olsen playing The Scarlet Witch, Aaron Johnson as her twin Quicksilver, and Andy Serkis in an as-yet unrevealed role.
The Avengers appear beleaguered. There's none of the backslapping jokiness you'd expect from a crowd who only just saved the world from ravening aliens just three years ago. In fact, there's downright friction. Everyone looks worried and suspicious, and it all ends in a bang-up, plus-sized fight between The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man, armored up in the Hulkbuster suit.
Avengers: Age of Ultron hopes to be this year's summer blockbuster. It releases on May 1 and is directed by Joss Whedon. The returning cast includes Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Paul Bettany as J.A.R.V.I.S.
