In Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Loses Abu-Sandeep, Gains Cavalli

New Delhi: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been on a fashion diet and it's worked wonders. Her wardrobe has lost the kilos of Abu-Sandeep frump that weighed her down in her last two years at the Cannes Film Festival. (Pics: Aishwarya's Fashion Encore)

What she's lost in yardage, she's gained in sexiness. Yesterday, Aishwarya made a traffic-stopping second appearance on the Cannes red carpet clad in Roberto Cavalli silvery-white splendor, diamonds sparkling in her ears.



On May 20, Ash queened it over the French Riviera in an equally show-stopping Cavalli mermaid dress in gold.



On a red carpet studded with celebrity clotheshorses like Sharon Stone, Jessica Chastain and a veritable army of Victoria's Secret Angels, everyone stopped to stare at the gorgeous Aishwarya.

Everyone, said Uday Chopra.

In her 12 years at Cannes, Aiswarya has always been undone by desi designers like Neeta Lulla and Abu-Sandeep, her mother-in-law's favourite couturiers. She has been best served by international names like Armani and Elie Saab - who she wore to great effect last year.



Roberto Cavalli, it seems, is the new favourite.
