In Shamitabh, Amitabh Bachchan Does All the Speaking

A still from Shamitabh

The makers of Shamitabh have been really creative with the promotional strategies of the film, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush, especially with the release of an audio poster of the film. It is, perhaps, the first time in the history of Indian cinema that an audio poster of a film has been released. The audio poster includes key dialogues from the film, mostly in Amitabh Bachchan's voice. NDTV has now learnt that Mr Bachchan's voice is the key voice in the film because Dhanush plays a mute character in Shamitabh.

Sources claim that Dhanush was best suited for the role because he is perhaps one of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema.

At a recent event, Dhanush told us why he chose the film. He said, "This is my second film in Bollywood. It's a place where I get to experiment with the kind if roles that are different."

In his last Hindi film, 2013 release Raanjhanaa, Dhanush, despite his poor Hindi, played a Brahmin boy from Varanasi, deeply in love with a Muslim girl. With Shamitabh, Dhanush plans to say it all without saying anything at all.
