The world was watching as Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer clashed at the box office last week. While one is a bubblegum drama with a feminist spin, the other documents one of the darkest periods of human history through the eyes of one of its key players. Since the release, all eyes have been on the films to gauge which of the two big projects left the other behind. Barbie's box office business shattered records worldwide, earning over $155 million in North America and $337 million globally, and Oppenheimer earned over $80.5 million in its opening weekend. However, the Indian box office has always marched to the beat of a different drummer and this is evident from the first Monday business of the two films. As per Box Office India, while Oppenheimer continued its dream run in the country and collected 7 crore nett, Barbie saw a 50% drop on Monday, making only 2.25 crore nett. With this, the collection of Oppenheimer in India has crossed 55 crore nett and Barbie has its overall business standing at 19.50 crore nett.
Box Office India in its report also offered a day-wise breakdown of the two films' theatrical collections in the country.

Oppenheimer, meanwhile, has Cillian Murphy in the titular role along with a stellar ensemble star cast including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Josh Hartnett, and Casey Affleck.
