Sania, Daler and Bipasha take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
New Delhi:
After taking over America, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is set to drench India. Though it is difficult to say who did the honours first, we bring you the top three (four actually, given Sania Mirza's two takes):
Challenged by a "little angel", probably a fan, Daler Mehndi - the King of Bhangra, the man who invented the butterfly step - stepped right up. He introduced himself keeping in mind his international audience. If you didn't know, his iconic bhangra song, Tunak Tunak Tun, is a worldwide rage. "Sat Sri Akaal! This is Daler Mehndi, turban man from India," said Daler. He then did a variation of the butterfly step and sang Tunak Tunak Tun, further making sure people watching the video recognize him.
"I doing for you, doing for a good cause (sic)," he says. He extends the challenge to Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra after he pours ice cold water on himself. And he doesn't stop at one bucket, not even two, just watch:
Ace tennis player Sania Mirza lived up to her standards of perfection and took the challenge twice. "Apparently, there wasn't enough water the first time around," she says. Watch and learn the art of mixing the right amount of water and ice:
Take 1 -
Take 2 -
For those who think less is more, watch Bipasha Basu complete the challenge:
