New Delhi:
Investigators from Los Angeles are travelling to Arizona to check on Katherine Jackson.
The mother of late pop icon Michael Jackson was reported missing by nephew Trent Jackson over the weekend although the state's Pima County Sheriff's Department said she was safe and well when they visited her at daughter Rebbie's home on Sunday night (July 22, 2012).
However, members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide and Missing Persons unit are now en route to Arizona because they believe she should have been questioned alone and not in front of her daughter.
A source told RadarOnline: "The cops from Pima County didn't follow proper procedure and questioned Katherine in front of her daughter, Rebbie. Katherine should have been taken into a separate room and asked if she was OK, or being held against her will. The decision was made that two detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department would personally go to Arizona to ensure that Katherine was safe, and that everything is OK. It's being done out of an abundance of caution."
Katherine Jackson is legally responsible for Michael Jackson's children Prince Michael, 15, Paris, 14 and 10-year-old Prince Michael II, and they claim not to have seen their grandmother in over a week. Paris Jackson wrote on Twitter:
The unusual situation comes after 82-year-old Katherine's children Janet, , Rebbie, Tito, Randy, and Jermaine wrote a letter demanding the resignations of the executors of Michael's estate because they believe his will was a fake.
The letter also alleged that the executors' manipulations left Katherine in bad health and caused her to have a mini-stroke which she has denied.
Michael Jackson died in 2009, when he overdosed on prescription drug Propofol, and although he had run up huge debts during his life, his estate has been making millions since his death.
