Actor Irrfan Khan said that he is thrilled that British filmmaker of Indian origin Asif Kapadia's Amy was named won Best Documentary Feature at the 88th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.
Amy is based on the life of late singer Amy Winehouse.
Irrfan, who worked with Mr Kapadia for 2011 film The Warrior, said in a statement: "I am extremely thrilled for Asif. He is an amazing filmmaker and I am happy that we had the opportunity to work together in the past."

Irrfan is himself an internationally popular actor, who has starred in Hollywood films like Jurrasic World and A Mighty Heart. He has also shot for Inferno with Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks.
