New Delhi:
Quantico and Baywatch, Priyanka Chopra is now America's Indian Sweetheart. She's been to the Oscars, the People's Choice Awards, she's been to all the important pre and after-parties, she'll be at the Emmys. And now, she's a 'New Royal,' according to W Magazine.
But the actress, who will be seen reprising her role of now-CIA agent-in-training Alex Parrish in the second season of the acclaimed ABC drama, doesn't just have the tag to add to her repertoire. Priyanka is also seen on the latest cover of the magazine. According to 'W', she "has gone from an unknown in America to one of Hollywood's brightest stars."
The cover features Priyanka alongside Hollywood and International television stalwarts like Halle Berry, Jodie Foster and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Stars like Julianne Moore, Naomi Campbell and Claire Danes have been part of the prestigious lineage in the past.
Priyanka, 34, shared the cover on Instagram as well, with the caption: "I love this cover. Thx u @WMag! Such an honor to be named Royalty alongside this insanely talented group. I always thought I was a queen (haha) #TheRoyals #DreamComeTrue."
The cover sees her in a ruffled blue top and minimal make-up. The magazine, too talks both Priyanka's popularity and her status as a "fashion week favourite," and her 'beauty on a budget' attitude.
The magazine, which focuses on game-changers of the entertainment industry, also posted a short but empowering video of Priyanka speaking about confidence and what it means to be 'royal.' The actress shared it on Instagram with the caption: "It's been a while since I've given a screen test @wmag #TheRoyals."
In the video, the self-proclaimed 'tomboy' Priyanka says, "When I was a teenager, I was a tomboy and had scars on my legs. But then I taught myself to take care of my body and my hair. It takes time, but if I can do it, anybody can. Today, my legs sell 12 or 15 products in my part of the world."
To recall, the actress had performed a lyrical improvisation version of Britney Spears' Toxic for the magazine with Jodie Foster a couple of weeks back.
Way to go, Priyanka.
