Jackie Shroff has starred in about 150 Bollywood movies
London: Indian actor Jackie Shroff has beenhonoured at the Palace of Westminster here for hiscontribution to the promotion of South Asian arts and culturethrough films.

Leading Labour MP and joint chair of the Indo-BritishAll-Party Parliamentary Group, Virendra Sharma presented aplaque to Jackie Shroff at a special ceremony last evening.Shroff, 56, made his acting debut in Dev Anand's movie,Swami Dada.

In 1983 he appeared as the main lead in Subhash Ghai'smovie Hero in which he was paired with Meenakshi Sheshadriand worked with eminent senior co-stars such as Shammi Kapoor,Sanjeev Kumar and Amrish Puri.

Since then Jackie Shroff has starred in about 150 movies. Heand Anil kapoor have co-acted in several superhit movies suchas Yudh, Andar Baahar, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Parinda,1942 A Love Story and Trimurti.In 1990, he won the Filmfare Best Actor Award for the filmParinda and in 1995 he won the Filmfare Best supportingActor Award for 1942 A Love Story. He also won the SpecialHonour Jury Award for Outstanding contribution to IndianCinema in 2007.
