Mumbai: Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who has done several films with Madhuri Dixit in the past, said that he now wants to do a romantic film with the noted actress.
They've worked together in several films, including Devdas, Lajja, Khalnayak, 100 Days, Parinda, Prem Deewane, Ram Lakhan and Sangeet.
"Madhuri should do more films. She should do a film with me where she is romancing me. On a level that has more grace. We are waiting for the right script and we hope we get one," the 58-year-old actor told PTI in an interview here.
"I follow the work of my contemporaries. I love their work. They are doing well. Sunny (Deol) is doing fantastic work, he is doing what he is best at - beating up people convincingly. Anil (Kapoor) is doing well - he is good at making people laugh," he said.
Jackie Shroff, who will be seen next in action-drama film Brothers alongside Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra, said that action in films has changed a lot today.
"Action has changed a lot today. In my times it was difficult and I have injured myself many times as there was less safety. Today, technology is available and insurance is also there," he said.
Also, there is a huge difference in the way things work in the film industry, from acting to scripting, and Jackie says the only thing that has not changed is emotions.
"Technology has advanced, we used to celebrate the success of a film with silver and golden jubilee, today with more number of theatres, a film makes business in three days or a week. Today people are more in love with phones," he said.
"I think emotions haven't changed be it of siblings, mother-father, husband-wife, rich and poor, all these things haven't changed. Though I have a busy schedule, I still find time to be with my loved ones as it gives me joy," he said.
Jackie has been a part of the film industry for almost four decades and has appeared in over 175 films in several languages like Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.
"I don't plan things. I don't have any mission. I listen to my heart and do things. If someone comes and tells me, if you do this film my life my career will change, so how can I not agree to do the project. I came from a chawl and I never thought of achieving so much in life. There are people who tell me I should refrain from doing films for the sake of friendship and instead work with good banners, but I always listen to what my heart says," he concluded.
