Kozhikode: Veteran Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar, undergoing treatment at a private hospital after a car accident, was shifted to Christian Medical College (CMC) in Tamil Nadu's Vellore district.
Sreekumar, 61, was taken to Arakkonam in an air-ambulance from nearby Karippur International Airport.
He was taken to CMC hospital in an ambulance from Arakkonam, said sources at Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS),where the actor was undergoing treatment.
Sreekumar should have been shifted to CMC a couple of weeks earlier, but it was postponed considering his health conditions.
A team of doctors, who had assessed the condition of the actor last month had decided to shift him to CMC.
Sreekumar was seriously injured when his car hit a road median and overturned at nearby Tenhippalam in Malappuram district on March 10. He was proceeding to Kodagu in Karnataka
for shooting of a Malayalam film.
