Hollywood star James Franco hasbeen named Leading Man of the Year by GQ magazine.
The 127 Hours star was recognised by the US editionof the magazine for his work during the last year.The 32-year-old will be one of the five special coverstars to feature on the publication's annual Men of the Yearissue, Contactmusic reported.
Also featuring are rapper Drake, who was namedBreakout Star of the Year, actor Jeff Bridges, who bagged thecoveted Icon of the Year accolade, comedian, presenter andactor Stephen Colbert, who is the recipient of the Patriot ofthe Year prize.
Franco, who flawlessly portrayed gay characters infilms like Howl, Blind Spot and Milk is simultaneouslytaking classes at five universities.
In his interview to the magazine, the 35-year-old starspoke of his interest in 'queer theory' after taking a classwith Michael Warner, one of the founders of the school ofthought.
"It's a wide-reaching approach to whatever,literature, life, politics. It is on the most basic level ananti-normative approach to all of these subjects. One approachto things might be to classify everything as, 'This isstraight, this is gay; this is Republican, this is Democrat'."
"The queer approach is to complicate all of that andsee the way all of these different things are intermingled andconnected," the actor said.
