James Horner's Melodies Will Live on for Thousands of Years: Ricky Kej

Bengaluru: Paying tributes to two-time Oscar-winning composer James Horner, who reportedly died in a plane crash, Grammy winner Ricky Kej said that the legacy of the Hollywood music director will continue through his music and that his melodies will never be forgotten.

"He is going to live on through his music and his melodies will never be forgotten for thousands of years," he told PTI.

Mr Horner, 61, reportedly died in a plane crash in a remote area near north of Santa Barbara.

Mr Horner, whose first break came with the score for 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, worked with some of the biggest directors in film, including George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Ron Howard and Oliver Stone. "He can be remembered as a melodious and thematic composer," Ricky said, adding, "I definitely remember him as a melodious composer because melody was very, very strong in his music." (Also Read: James Horner's Best Work, Including The Titanic Song That Won Him an Oscar)

He also said that he loved and admired Mr Horner' work with Hollywood film director James Cameron and Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

"His combination with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and James Cameron was really beautiful. Titanic, Terminator and Avatar, all were spectacular scores," he said.
