Elton John may want Robert DowneyJr for his biopic but the role has caught the fancy of British James McAvoy, who has offered to play the musician.
McAvoy, best known for his roles in 'Atonement' and'Wanted' wants to play the 'Candle in the Wind' hitmaker.
John has revealed that the actor has already offered to take on the lead in an upcoming biopic.
The singer and his partner, Canadian film producerDavid Furnish, are teaming up with British screenwriter LeeHall for the new project.
They're hunting for an actor to play John, andthe singer-songwriter admits McAvoy could be in with a chance,Sunday Express reported.
"James could do it and he's already offered. I'd justlike to make a really great film about my life story.
"We have a great script already by Lee Hall, who wroteBilly Elliot. Obviously it's not going to be your normalrun-of-the-mill film because my life has been kind of crazy,and I think it's important to do a surrealistic take on mylife. I'd love to do that. This business is so incredible."John said.
