Los Angeles: Actor Jamie Foxx will reportedlystar as super villain Electro in the new The AmazingSpider-Man 2 movie.
It is said that Foxx has been approached to play thevillain but he is still in early talks with Sony Pictures.
The Oscar-winning Ray actor added fuel to his castingreport by tweeting, "Dressed up as Electro for Halloween lastnight. Costume fits well."
Though Foxx hasn't been confirmed for the part, directorMarc Webb made a comment on the actor's possible involvementin the Spidey film, reported Variety.
"I think Jamie Foxx is electrifying. I think he is one ofthe best actors around today. He's such a great characteractor and he's a really brilliant guy. I would love to workwith him and you'll be hearing more on that shortly, I'msure," he said.
Of Electro himself, Webb says, "I like Electro. I'mfascinated by Norman Osborn and the different inflections ofhim. And Harry. Mary Jane and Gwen are always interesting tome."
Electro, the antagonist is also known as Max Dillon. Hegains the ability to control electricity after being struck bylightning while working on a power line. The character firstappeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 9, which was published inFebruary 1964.
The upcoming Spidey sequel will bring back Webb as thedirector. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will also return asPeter and his first love Gwen Stacy respectively.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will make its way out onto theUS cinemas on May 2, 2014.
