Sridevi's elder daughter is 19 and all set to step into the big challenging world of Bollywood with the Karan Johar-produced movie, in which she co-stars with Ishaan Khattar. The big announcement about Janhvi's first film has come as a relief of sorts because fans are eager to see a new generation of Bollywood star kids on screen. Karan Johar was reportedly saving the promotional material for later but it was Janhvi who got her mother to get things rolling sooner than scheduled.

Janhvi co-stars with Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khattar in the movie, which is to be directed by Shashank Khaitan. The cast and crew are all set to go on floors next month and Dharma Production says Dhadak will be ready for release on July 6 next year. Jhanvi's colourful lehenga choli, Ishaan's bandhni shirt and the playful flirting in one of the new Dhadak posers may remind you of certain scenes from Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's Ram-Leela.

Janhvi's joining Bollywood was not really a happy decision for Sridevi. Earlier this year, Sridevi confessed that her concerned maternal instincts for her daughters would rather have Janhvi not join the film industry. Sridevi attracted a lot of criticism after telling mid-day "it would give me greater joy to see her married," than to see her in struggling in Bollywood. Sridevi later issued a statement clarifying that she was "misunderstood" for her comments.

Though she has never said it but Janhvi's favourite designer appears to be Manish Malhotra. Eight out of ten of her recent party and festive appearances in show-stopping ensembles from the designer's studio.
