Javier Bardem takes risks with his roles
London: Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardemlikes to put himself at risk as an actor so that he canportray his characters honestly.

The 'No Country For Old Men' star, who has played gayand paralysed characters in his previous movies doesn't liketo simply deliver lines as he wants to relate to hischaracters, Contactmusic reported.

"It's not a movie to just deliver lines and go home.An actor wants to portray somebody honestly and if you want toget to that honest place, you have to put yourself sometimesat risk," said Bardem.

The 41-year-old Spanish actor is unsure whether hewill be a part of the film project about the trapped Chileanminers, something he has been linked to.

"I think it's too soon to do it with some justice," hesaid.

Bardem says he thinks his characters as 'buildings'and enjoys constructing them from its base.

"A character is like a building. I've never studiedarchitecture, but I imagine that first you have to prepare theplans, lay down the base, a solid base that has to do with thecharacter, and from there build it up."

"Once this is all clear, you can add the details: Iwant blue walls, I want wood floors, I want him to speak thisway or move like that. But first you have to think," he added.
