Jawan Box Office Collection Day 13: The Ganesh Utsav Effect On Shah Rukh Khan's Film

Shah Rukh Khan's new blockbuster Jawan has begun its countdown to Rs 500 crore and is showing "phenomenal trending on weekdays," reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The Ganesh Chaturthi holiday on Day 13 (Tuesday) gave the film an "extra push." Tuesday's earnings of nearly Rs 13 crore has taken Jawan's total at the domestic box office so far to Rs 457.59 crore nett. The film's Tamil and Telugu versions have made over Rs 53 crore so far. Jawan released on September 7, which was Janmashtami, and so far has taken advantage of two festivals.

Jawan has already crossed the lifetime business of the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2 as well as having broken box office records set by Shah Rukh Khan's previous release Pathaan.

Jawan, directed by Atlee, is a masala entertainer starring Shah Rukh Khan in a double role - he plays amnesiac former army officer Vikram Rathore and also his son Azad, a police officer by day and vigilante by night. Nayanthara plays Azad's love interest while Deepika Padukone, making a special appearance, is cast as Vikram Rathore's wife. Vijay Sethupathi plays the villain of the piece and Sanjay Dutt appears in a memorable cameo. Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan and Ridhi Dogra play pivotal roles.
