New Delhi: American Singer Jennifer Hudson had a shoe thrown at her on stage while performing in Boston on Friday night. Well, Jennifer is not the first celebrity to face this kind of incident on stage, but she is probably one of the first to take it as a compliment (as she had explained on Late Night With Seth Meyers). "Here comes the shoe," the 36-year-old singer wrote on the video she posted on Instagram from the concert in Boston. During her concert, a fan and member of the orchestra decided to share the same compliment while Hudson performed the song titled And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going from her Oscar-winning film Dreamgirls.
Here's what happened at the concert on Friday:
Jennifer, who is one of the judges of US singing reality show The Voices, started the bizarre shoe throwing trend herself on the show. After contestant Chris Weaver sang Try A Little Tenderness, Jennifer threw a silver platform heel at the contestant and also explained that it was a good thing.
Sharing another clip from the concert, she wrote: "I told my crew I said lord people are going to start throwing shoes at me after The Voice that just what happened tonight! Got my first shoe thrown at me tonight ! lol I could barely finish my song after this guy got done ! Lol to much ! I love it."
As an actress, Jennifer made her film debut by portraying Effie White in Dreamgirls, for which she received a great response and even won several awards like Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actress. She has also appeared in films like Sex And The City, The Secret Life of Bees and Black Nativity.
Her singing albums include Jennifer Hudson, I Remember Me and The Color Purple, which earned the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
