The actress won an Oscar this year for Silver Linings Playbook.
Los Angeles: With a best actress Oscar win and a hit franchise to her name at the age of 22, Jennifer Lawrence has arrived in Hollywood in a big way and the star says she always knew about hitting stardom someday.

The actress, who is on the cover of Vogue magazine's September issue, said she always had an idea about what she wanted and fame was one of those things.

"I've never said this before, because there is no way to say it without it being completely misunderstood, but ever since I was really little, I always had a very normal idea of what I wanted: I was going to be a mom, and I was going to be a doctor, and I was going to live in Kentucky. But I always knew that I was going to be famous," Lawrence told Vogue. "I honest to God don't know how else to describe it. I used to lie in bed and wonder, 'Am I going to be a local TV person? Am I going to a motivational speaker?' It wasn't a vision. But as it's kind of happening, you have this buried understanding: of course," she added.

Lawrence is reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire, the sequel to her hit The Hunger Games. And the actress says she can identify with her character because she has made a similar journey.

"When Winter's Bone was getting nominated. I had only done indies, and suddenly I was introduced to this brand-new world where I didn't feel like myself. I was in these weird gowns and listening to people talk about things I didn't understand. And I remember reading that in the book and being like, 'Oh, my God, I know exactly what this feels like,'" she said.

"I don't know what it's like to get ready for your death, but I do know what it's like to be almost a puppet. And then when I was making the second film, I had become more acquainted with that world, and I think that's something that Katniss experiences," she added.

The actress will also be seen in David O Russell's film American Hustle opposite Christian Bale after an Oscar-winning turn in the director's last film Silver Linings Playbook.

"I got to make out with Christian Bale," she said.
