Jennifer Lopez bans ex-husband from competing on American Idol

Los Angeles: Popstar and brand newAmerican Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has banned ex-husbandOjani Noa, an aspiring singer, from auditioning on thesuperhit talent show.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Noa, Lopez'sfirst husband, was planning to audition for the show.The 38-year-old said he would be queuing up alongsideother hopefuls and planned on singing one of his ex-wife'ssongs.

When the Get It Right hitmaker, who reportedlysigned a $12 million contract to be on the judging panel,found out about this, she got the channel to stop him fromcompetiting, reported Radar online.

"Jennifer told Fox to make sure that the screeners atthe auditions would not let Ojani anywhere near the auditions.Fox made it clear he was not welcome and that he could bearrested if he showed up so he dropped the plan at the lastminute," said a source in the studios.

"It was a shame because all he wanted to do was toshowcase his voice and show people that he can really singtoo," added the source.

Lopez has provided the security team with all kinds ofinformation about her estranged ex-husband, including photos,detailed descriptions and even some recordings of him singing.

The 41-year-old was married to the former Cuban waiterfor just under a year between 1997 and 1998.

The pair has been embroiled in bitter court battlesever since the singer tried to block him from releasing a filmabout his life because it reportedly contained raunchy footageof them together.
