London:
Singer John Mayer is recovering after undergoing a throat surgery to remove an inflamed nodule near his vocal cords.
"I had surgery this afternoon and am now on complete vocal rest for a month or more. It's been a very long process in waiting to see if time was an alternative to surgery," Mayer wrote on his blog.
"I should be frustrated but I can't seem to stop thinking about beautiful things... I never thought I'd be wishing I could do what I love again; I stay in at night, picking guitar parts off of records and dreaming of playing on the big stage," Mayer posted.
Mayer said he was diagnosed with granuloma in September as a result of which he cancelled his concerts. He also delayed the release of his fifth studio album, Born and Raised, to 2012, reports aceshowbiz.com.
