Actor Johnny Depp says honesty guided his family in handling his break-up with longtime partner Vanessa Paradis.
Depp also said that he is proud the way his young children have coped with his split from their mother, reported People magazine.
"When you have children, there is no room for lies, noroom for anything but the truth. Anything other than that is abad example, I believe," said Depp, father of Jack, 11, andLily-Rose, 14.
"We were just very truthful with them and they were justincredibly understanding, incredibly accepting. I wasextremely proud of them, the way they dealt with it," headded.
Depp, who plays sidekick Tonto to leading man ArmieHammer in the new film adaption of The Long Ranger, saidhe's also grown more comfortable as he ages.
"I would rather be a Keith than a Mick," Depp, a musicianwho has played with bands, said of the Rolling Stones' hierarchyof Keith Richards and Mick Jagger.
