Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp's friend had to save his life when he accidentally set his head on fire during a childhood stunt.
The 48-year-old actor, who plays journalist Paul Kemp innew movie The Rum Diary, said the scenes where he poursalcohol in his mouth and sets it alight wasn't the first timehe achieved the feat, recalling a weird experience when afriend had to save his life when a trick went wrong, reportedContactmusic.
"I did spew a little fire when I was a youth. I verydumbly chugged a little bit of gasoline and blew it into atorch and my head was on fire. That's true.
"It's a weird thing when your head is on fire. You tendto panic first. And then when panic sets in and you cannot getyour face out, you run. Which is the worst thing you can do. Afriend of mine, a guy named Bones, came over and put my faceout. He saved my life," Depp said.
Despite his scary childhood experience, the actor says hewas delighted to repeat the stunt in the movie.
"I was very excited that night about the possibility ofactually spewing fire," Depp added.
