Johnny Depp Turns Scribe In Rum Diary

Los Angeles: Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp is all set to portray a burned-out journalist, who takesup a job in Puerto Rico, in the upcoming movie Rum Diary.

The other actors who star in the the movie adaptation of Hunter S Thomspon's novel of the same name, are Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart and Richard Jenkins. The film has been directed by Bruce Robinson, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The movie will be released by FilmDistrict on October 28. The film is the story of a burned-out New York journalist who takes a job writing for a newspaper in Puerto Rico.

Depp's Infinitum Nihil, Graham King and Tim Headington are producing, along with Anthony Rhulen and Robert Kravis. Peter Schlessel, CEO of Film District and President of GK Films, said, "The Rum Diary is a special project for all of us here, as it is a true collaboration between both of our entities. Depp gives an extraordinary performance in this remarkable adaptation."
