Hollywood actor Johnny Depp-starrer The Rum Diary will hit the screens in India November 4.
Directed by Bruce Robinson, it is based on the novel of the same name by Hunter S. Thompson. Apart from Depp, The Rum Diary also has actors Aaron Eckhart and Amber Heard in prominent roles.
The story revolves around itinerant journalist Paul Kemp (Depp), who is tired of noise and madness in New York and decides to move to Puerto Rico to write for a local San Juan newspaper run by the downtrodden editor Lotterman (Richard Jenkins). There he strikes a bond with Chenault (Heard) and her businessman fiance Sanderson (Eckhart).
While working there and getting addicted to rum, Kemp discovers his true voice as a writer and integrity as a man. The film is being distributed in India by PVR Pictures.
