Rock star Jon Bon Jovi has donatedUSD 1 million to the New Jersey Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.
"Returning home is humbling. My being here is notpolitical, it's emotional. I grew up here. I went to schoolhere. I met my wife here," he said.
Days after the storm devastated areas of Sayreville, the51-year-old singer visited his hometown and spent timecomforting area residents, reported E! online.
"One thought came to me. What can I do? One of theresidents responded, saying, 'Use your voice'," he added.
His Because We Can tour will resume in North America onJuly 12 in Chicago. The group is set to play two hometownshows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, on July 25and July 27.
