Veteran English actress Dame Judi Dench has received British Film Institute's coveted fellowship award for her contribution to cinema and television.
The 76-year-old Oscar-winner was presented with the title during the organisation's annual chairman's dinner at the Bfi Southbank in London, reported Contactmusic.
The previous recipients of the fellowship include Clint Eastwood, Sir Ridley Scott and 'Slumdog Millionaire' director Danny Boyle.
"For someone who was told in 1959 that they would never make it in the film industry I feel incredibly surprised and privileged to be receiving this Fellowship from the Bfi."
Dench has won multiple awards for performances on the London stage, including a record six Laurence Olivier Awards. Tony Award for her 1999 Broadway performance in the role of Esme Allen in David Hare's 'Amy's View'.
